Across the Universe
Mr. Kite Sequence
I worked with the director of Across the Universe (Julie Taymor) and the director of the animated sequences within the film (Kyle Cooper) to create this fantastical world. The sequence is inspired by The Beatles' song, "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite," which is also the soundtrack for the sequence performed by the Eddie Izzard.
The film is a musical about an American girl and a poor Liverpudlian artist that fall in love. The Beatles' music is incorporated throughout the film, performed by the actors. The songs also inspire themes and story lines throughout the film.
